The 154th winner of the St Leger, held on Wednesday 11th September 1928 over 1 mile 6 furlongs and 132 yards of Town Moor, was Trigo, a bay colt by Blandford out of Athasi, owned by Mr William Barnett. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £6,500. (Equivalent to £375,700 in 2017)
